Yes...after 2 months finally I finished to check all the Famicom stuff I've bought in my first Tokyo trip !

Famicom stuff from Tokyo shops!

With my Ipod charged with images of the covers of the games I'm missing, I've saved a lot of time looking for them in Tokyo shops I've visited.

And finally I've finished to check all the Famicom stuff I've brought back here.

Usually I'm fascinated by artistic covers, so several of them were bought on that purpose. The best part is that often they're also good games XD

I've managed to find also 4 of the difficult to find Namco games with hard case. Galaxian, Galaga, Pac-Man and Dig Dug. Someone didn't even know the existence of such versions, and personally didn't know that Pac-Man and Dig Dug existed also in this form.

Now I just need to discover if a Dig Dug II exists in hard case box or not.

A note for who doesn't know what I'm talking about: some old Famicom Namco games were released in soft cardboard boxes and then in hard case "mega drive style" tiny plastic boxes, a little uncommon versions:

Dig Dug Hard Case Version

Galaga Hard Case Version

Galaxian Hard Case Version

Pac-Man Hard Case Version

And obiously several RPGs among these. Today I've also renewed a couple of covers on Legendra db with scanned versions.

Ganbare Goemon Gaiden: Kieta Ougon Kiseru

Jajamaru Gekimaden: Maboroshi no Kinmajou

Lagrange Point

One of the best boxes from this lot is Ai Sensei no Oshiete: Watashi no Hoshi. The box is huge for the Famicom standards and the cover is quite fascinating. I think is some sort of simulation game (on vgrebirth is stated as "quiz"), one of those "rendezvous simulators" where japanese guys try to learn how to approach girls XD

There are several games for Famicom in hard case (especially from Namco, Taito and Koei). But Namco games of that kind are considered a true series on its own, and in japanese shops like Super Potato they have a zone just for them XD

And some of them, like Mappy or those I've shown here usually are at crazy prices on ebay or western sites...I waited that trip to buy them at fair prices. Some are getting difficult to find even there!
