Boxes of old MSX, PC98, X68000 games are simply huge paired with other boxes. And sometimes full of contents too. And sometimes limited edtions contain peculiar stuff...
Until half of the 90s there were lots of games that had boxes that today we may consider limited or special or superdeluxe editions. But they wer just regular editions. Then they were replaced by smaller boxes.
Now, do you prefer small and artistic boxes like Famicom games, or wonderful and almost ever lasting Mega Drive boxes ? Or are you on this kind of huge stuff ?
Just remember, they will fill your house quickly...very...quickly...
And another thing. Boxes size really matters in Japan. Even today. Maybe because they take too much space in their shops, limited editions are sold very often at fair prices. A little example look at these two. Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne Deluxe Pack at 3650 yen and an Eithea Deluxe Pack at 500 yen. Only problem, just 3-4 of this boxes and you'll have your luggage full.
Talking about limited editions reminded me that sometimes you find cool & strange stuff inside. Do you wanna have some tea in Saga Frontier teacups ? Maybe dressed with those t-shirts ?
